Click on the picture above to start listening to Episode 69 of The Nerd Lunch Podcast!
I joined host C.T on his Nerd Lunch Podcast once again. I love being on the show because it’s a chance to geek out with my friends and talk about pop culture minutia that you won’t get to hear anywhere else. In Episode…wait for it…69 dude! we had the chance to interview one of our favorite artists, Des Taylor.

Stop by and admire Des Taylor’s blog and Online Gallery

If you aren’t familiar with Des’ work, he’s got a retro ’40s style that blends so well with all kinds of superheros and hot pinup girls that he loves to draw. It was extremely hard not letting it turn into The Chris Farley Show, but I think I did nervously say “That was awesome” at least twice during the show.

We talked about how he made it to where he is today as an artist, which was mighty interesting, especially in comparison to other artists who “just started drawing.” We also went back and forth on our favorite superhero costumes and also came to some solid conclusions on Star Wars and the Batman franchise. It was a fun conversation, so download it! IT’S FREE on iTunes and it will provide you with a fun diversion on your way to work. Or just click the Nerd Lunch logo and listen NOWWWW!!!

NJ T-Shirt Tuesday 104: Fatman on Batman

Photobucket

What’s the difference between a Podcast and a Smodcast? There’s one big difference – a Smodcast is featured on NJ icon Kevin Smith’s network of podcasts available on iTunes. One of them happens to be about one of my favorite subjects in the whole world.

You can hear Smith and a Batman related guest discuss all things Caped Crusader on Fatman on Batman. It’s incredibly satisfying to be able to listen to a podcast all about the nuances of my favorite hero hosted by a reputable source such as Jersey’s own Kevin Smith.

Adam West, Arleen Sorkin, and Kevin Conroy have all been guests on the show. I’ve listened to all the episodes so far and the best guest was Mark Hamill. Hamill has been the voice of the Joker since Batman: The Animated Series, and there’s no one more associated with the character than Hamill. This 2-parter was fascinating and if you’re interested in sampling this podcast – I suggest downloading this episode! Smith delves into all kinds of bat-details, so it’s perfect for Batman and Kevin Smith fans alike.

Nerd Lunch Halloween Special!

Nerd Lunch PodcastMy goal in life at this point is to become the Alec Baldwin of the Nerd Lunch podcast. I don’t think I’m quite there yet, but hopefully one of these days I’ll be in contention. What can I say, I have lofty aspirations! This time around I was a guest on their Halloween Special which I was very excited to be a part of. For episode 59, C.T wasn’t around, but Pax, Jeeg, Shawn from Branded in the ’80s, and myself discussed both the 1976 Paul Lynde Halloween Special and the 1986 TV movie The Worst Witch. It was a lot of fun as always and let it enhance your Halloween celebration. You can download it from iTunes for free, or go and visit www.NerdLunch.net and catch it there!

…Cause I’m Saved By The Bell!

The latest Nerd Lunch Podcast is available NOW! It was so cool to be a guest on the show again. I joined C.T, Jeeg, and Aaron Nix from MovieHodgePodge.com and it was a wall to wall Saved By The Bell BLOWOUT! We honored the name of the show by seriously getting geeky with all the minute details and aspects of the show that may never have even crossed your mind! As we walked down the metaphorical hallways of Bayside High we exchanged opinions on everything from the various cast members to the spin-off shows. Get ready to ride low in your chair and pop your earbuds in for the latest Nerd Lunch podcast! Also available to download on iTunes!

Nerd Lunch Episode 34: Wrestlemania Memories

Listen to episode 34 of the Nerd Lunch Podcast! Join Jeeg, Pax from Cavalcade of Awesome, Downs from Atomic Geeks and myself on a trip down to the squared circle. We get a little rowdy as we cut promos, and discuss our favorite Wrestlemania matches and moments.

Rest Stop Dedications: Nerd Lunch

The Sexy Armpit is very selective when it comes to dedicating rest stops around the state to blogs and websites. Today, let’s honor one of the best by going out to an all you can eat lunch…a Nerd Lunch!

Nerd Lunch sounds like a blog dedicated to food created by using algebraic equations, but that is so not the case. Head over to Nerd Lunch and join C.T, Jeeg, Plee and their covert mission specialist Paxton from Cavalcade of Awesome for posts on all kinds of nostalgia, toys, comics, TV, and movies. The Nerd Lunch crew also produces a podcast available on iTunes! The Sexy Armpit was a guest on the recent “Episode 9: The Replicators Are Broken” where we all had to agree on what food we would bring aboard our spaceship so download it now! The most recent episode features our friend Shawn Robare from Branded in the ’80s talking about one of my favorite subjects of all time…Masters of the Universe toys!

*Nerd Lunch recently held a DC/Marvel post card mail away in the vein of Branded in the ’80s and I was lucky to receive cards from both sites. I’m going to be taking pictures soon and posting them on our Facebook page.

Jay and Silent Bob Get Old at NYCC!

Photobucket

East coasters, especially those from Jersey, will be excited to know that Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes will be presenting their live podcast Jay and Silent Bob Get Old at New York Comic Con this year. The Sexy Armpit will definitely be at Comic Con, but I’m not sure if I want to battle the crowds for that one. It’s cool to see our favorite stoners from Jersey appearing to beef up the star power. I’m sure there will be plenty more announcements of celebs and fanboy icons signing on in the coming weeks. Keep up on the latest news at the official NYCC website: http://www.newyorkcomiccon.com/

The State of the Armpit

Promises, Promises. I’m usually the kind of guy who won’t make a promise unless I can keep it. In this case it’s about the website “TheSexyArmpit.com”. I kept saying I would update and throw up some new podcasts. Alot of you are probably wondering what the hell happened to all of that. Well – here it is: I don’t have the time. I know it sounds lame but I really don’t. It’s unfortunate but the “real world” has kinda snuck up on me. I’m still the whacked out guy I’ve always been, but now I just have lots of bills to pay. So unless I get my next 400 paychecks by tomorrow afternoon the website form of “TheSexyArmpit.com” will cease to exist.

I know you’re all bummed. But think about it, what’s more friggin’ hip than a blog? lol. I don’t know about you but I’m so sick of MySpace so this is the way I’ll be doing it from now on. At least until some huge company comes to me and says we want to sponsor your site and make it the most visited sight on the internet. Well that ain’t happening any time soon so I decided to go with a blog. It’s nice and easy and it’ll concentrate on any warped thoughts that I have that desperately need to escape from my brain.

As for the podcast – I’d still like to do it and I haven’t counted it out. But it seems that I won’t have a way to present it without a website unless I use ITunes. SO that’s not impossible.

Another thing stacked against the site was the fact that we (Steve and Myself) couldn’t get any loyal staff members to be part of the team. It was like we were the black plague. I see plenty of sites that have staff of 11 or 12 people who take on different jobs such as reviewer/advertiser. We couldn’t get ANYONE let alone someone who could take on a specific job. Even Steve crapped out. I guess life just gets in the way. But I’m still committed to having something up on the internet. So that’s where I’m at now. The lone blogger. Fuck off…I carry silver bullets.
